DESCRIPTION:Pat Harper became the Southern Oregon Historical Society's Archivist in 2010\, following a 30-year career in public libraries. Recently retired from her SOHS staff position\, Pat remains the Society's webmaster and a library volunteer. We're pleased to welcome Pat as the guest speaker at the May 7 First Tuesdays Pub Talk\, starting at 7 p.m. at the Four Daughters Irish Pub\, 126 West Main\, in Medford. Most indigenous Americans in the Rogue Valley were forced onto the Table Rock Reservation in the 1850s\, and then on to the Grand Ronde and Siletz reservations\, though some Indian women remained in Jacksonville and surrounding settlements. Pat explores who these ladies were\, where they lived\, and how they managed to get by. First Tuesday Pub talks\, a series of free monthly historical talks sponsored by the Southern Oregon Historical Society\, are held the first Tuesday of the month at the Four Daughters Irish Pub in downtown Medford. Talks are free and last approximately an hour\, with ample time for questions and discussion afterwards
