When you've completed your scarecrow\, you can enter it in the Scarecrow Contest and compete for a People's Choice Award\, OR take your scarecrow home with you. Everything you need to make a scarecrow-making is available in a kit. And\, while you're at the farm\, plan to take a hayride\, paint a pumpkin or bob for an apple\, and tour the historic Hanley House.\n\n\n\nBest-selling fermentation authors Kirsten and Christopher Shockey will share their fruit pressing skills at the October Annual Scarecrow Festival at Hanley Farm. The Shockeys have co-authored several books\, including the best-selling Fermented Vegetables\, and share their passion with others as they teach worldwide\, and host workshops on their 40-acre homestead in Southern Oregon. We invite you to meet the Shockeys\, sample their apple juice\, and bring your own fruit to press!
