NATIVE SEED COLLECTING AT THE ROGUE RIVER PRESERVE
Join the Rogue Native Plant Partnership to collect native seeds at the Rogue River Preserve!
Wild collected seeds are the "currency" of ecological restoration and provide essential genetic resources to support biodiversity from the ground up. During this event, our partners will be focusing on popcornflower (Plagiobothrys) seeds, while observing and identifying many other native plants and flowers.
Please plan on bringing a lunch, plenty of water, and sun protection. We will be walking off trail to collect seeds from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., then we will break for lunch under the oak trees before wrapping everything up by 1:00 p.m. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Training and seed collection materials will be provided.
If you have any questions, please contact Tuula Rebhan, Seed Partnerships & Operations Manager, at tuula@understoryinitiative.org.
