Windows in Time Lecture Series Presents: "Making History Together: The 75-year Story of the Southern Oregon Historical Society"

Southern Oregon Historical Society member Alice Mullaly presents the Windows in Time lecture “Making History Together: The 75-year Story of the Southern Oregon Historical Society” on Wednesday, August 4 from 12 Noon–1:00 p.m. via the Zoom video conferencing app. All are welcome to attend this free lecture; registration is required.

From the beginning, the story of the Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS) was one of people coming together to enhance their community. This talk will focus on the stages of development that made SOHS a leader in historic preservation and regional history education. Learn about the most popular exhibit ever in the valley, a family that likely did more to preserve Southern Oregon history than any other, and what a modern neighborhood in transition can learn from where it has been. Get a preview of how the Society intends to continue being integral to our community in the future.

Alice Mullaly is a retired teacher and longtime volunteer in the Southern Oregon Historical Society Research Library and at Hanley Farm. She has also written articles and given talks for SOHS. Mullaly recently completed a timeline of the 75 years of Southern Oregon Historical Society history.
